Continuing on Wednesday June 11th, we will be hosting the second professional development webinar which will address the issues  summer reading  and how to address the issue of "summer slip”. You can find the link to join the webinar below. 

Preventing Summer Slip Webinar 
June 11th  3:30 – 4:30

We will discuss best practices for maintaining student usage over the summer in an effort to prevent summer slip and will focus on the following topics:
  • Research about “Summer Slip” and ways to prevent it.
  • Developing strategies for student access over the summer
  • Identifying “at risk” populations
  • Summer Reading Contests
  • Summer Reading Book Sets

Please be reminded that as part of the MOU agreement signed by each participating district, participation in professional development is a requirement of each pilot.   While this can be  and should shared with any teacher involved in the project, it is expected that there will be representation  by each pilot and / or teacher center in the webinars.
